Lack of communication, life transitional stress, and managing mental health-related struggles can be challenging and difficult for the millennial family. At Everyday Self Counselling, my goal is to work with families to rebuild connections, manage stressful events with ease, and openly discuss their mental health in a confidential and collaborative environment. I use various client-centred approaches and education to promote long-term change and enhance familial bonds.
Common reasons families may reach out for counselling includes:
Communication breakdowns regarding a lack of understanding, compassion, and empathy within the family system
Enhancing understanding of one another within the family
Navigating through change (relocating homes/schools, divorce/separation, death and dying, serious illness)
Lack of understanding for mental-illness present within the family (managing the effects of Anxiety, Depression, OCD, Borderline Personality Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, and more)
